![]() So the 7 different Orchestra, Strings, Voices and Dark Pad “(RAD)” samples in this library all came from this one broken Korg M1. ![]() ![]() It was only playing thru 1/2 of the bit resolution of the D to A converter for some reason and sounded truly horrible in a very beautiful way! I took it home (shhhh don’t tell the customer) and sampled it for probably 2 or 3 days to create the RAD samples in this library (RAD stands for Really Awesomely Damaged by the way). They also had a small repair shop where Mason would fix Korg and Marshall gear that was defective (warranty work) and one day he told me to drop by to hear this M1 that came in for repair. They had Wenger isolation rooms I worked out of to do voicing (this is during the T-Series / O1W / Trinity / Triton era of Korg’s instruments I worked on). When I was a young lad, I worked in Los Angeles at the KORG USA distribution center in Canoga Park. This is a library with samples that have been waiting over 30 years to be released! There are over 50 BPM Patches that I worked my ears off to make as cool, useful and inspiring as possible and tons of incredible combinations of all these samples for a truly unique library that has very few ties to any other samples which makes it feel like you’re buying a totally new Synthesizer. Welcome to RAD Waves! 128 Patches using 38 new sampled instruments from a terribly broken but awesome (RAD) sounding M1, Razor, Vital and numerous analog synths in my person collection of hardware instruments.
